I really should learn to keep my mouth shut – the minute I seem to say I’m going to do anything, something happens to put the kybox on it! This time it wasn’t my fault – really! Someone should really make waterproof keyboards – I would but I can just about type on them never mind know how to make them – lol. Anyways – (hangfire for puppydog eyes and pouty face) – this time it was all down to a certain little toddlin’ man.
Day after my birthday Jonathan pulled a full bowl of cereal – complete with milk – down over Tony’s good wireless keyboard – totally banjaxed it! So it was out of the loft for the old original one – wheyhey I thought – but all the keys stuck and it really didn’t like the letter A (which didn’t help since it’s in all my passwords!). so it was off to Tesco for a new on. But – (ya knew it was coming) – that had a sticky keypad too. Totally drove me nuts – I managed to reply to some comments and at least I could log in – but it would take ages writing anything, having to go back and check every word to make sure nothing was missing, or go back to the 2-finger technique! Then, yesterday when I was work the Terrible Toddler struck again – this time with a full glass of lemonade! So it was back to Tesco – keep your fingers crossed for this one!
Anywhoos – I’m still waiting on my birthday presents, well I do have an Elfin diary coming soon but that was only because I mentioned I needed to order a new one for this year so Tony decided he’d get it for me. I know it’s not the gifts that’s important but you try telling that to my inner child! Part of me keeps saying, you’re an adult you don’t need anything but She keeps saying, it’s my birthday – spoil me. Apparantly he’s going to buy me some recycled sari yarn – but I can’t decide what I want to make with it (still haven’t found that perfect pattern yet!) I have seen some moulds I’d like to make altar pieces but yet again, I can’t decide which ones. Oh, dilemmas, dilemmas!
So, while I’ve been MIA I’ve been knitting for England. I haven’t knit for about 18 years and for some reason I’m totally hooked again. I tell ya, I never thought I’d get excited about knitting dishcloths!!! I joined a mystery knit-along on a pagan group on Yahoo – turned out to be a Bridgets Cross design dishcloth – well talk about creating a monster! I’ve been on Ravelry most days pulling patterns (thankfully I didn’t need to log in to have a peek) and I’ve decided I want to make a bedspread using recycled cotton yarn (back in the day we just called it dishcloth cotton!) and loads of pagany/witchy designs. I figure that if I do them dishcloth size I might actually get it finished – just sew them altogether at the end. Then there’s the Witches Knot altar cloth and the goddess altar cloths I want to make. Oh and I found a couple of groups with patterns for shawls and stuff based on the Pern novels by Anne McCaffrey – my all-time favourite books! – so I want to make a Gather shawl for my wedding day, to wear instead of a veil. Tony loved that idea – the more things I make the longer it’ll be before we set a date, therefore the longer he can hold on to his money!!! At this rate I’ll be lucky to see my first anniversary never mind my 50th!!! Of course, before I start all these, I have to finish the stuff I’ve got on the needles – Eyeore (been on there for 4 years, 2 pairs of Rainbow mittens, Rebecca’s Topsy Turvy doll and teddybear (thankfully I’ve finished knitting these two and they just need putting together. And then I have to do Tony’s birthday present – a rainbow Willie warmer! Well, he was the one who made the sarcastic comment about why didn’t I knit anything useful, like something to keep his willie warm at work (the shop would freeze’em off brass monkeys tis time of year)! Ya’d think after all these years he’d learn not to make suggestions like that – I only have to embarrass him by actually doing the stuff! So now all I need are another few months in the day and I’ll be all set!
Well, have to head here – the rabble are up and baying for blood – well breakfast anyways but in this house seems like the same thing. Can someone tell me please what age kids are when they stop eating you out of house and home? When Ryan was smaller we could hardly get him to eat – or sit down (he wasn’t called Duracell for nothing)! I remember saying to Tony that I was just living for the day he becomes a teenager and starts sleeping all day and raiding the fridge – just never expected him to hit that stage at 6! And Rebecca – Tony’s starting to think she has worms –lol!!! Thank the Goddess Jonathan can’t get the fridge open yet! Hopefully once they’re all fed and watered I’ll have peace to get the needles out – maybe 5 – 10 minutes if I’m lucky before they’re all hungry again?
Have fun whatever you’re doing and I WILL try to get on later – tell ya’s all the rest of the wonderful exciting week I’ve had!
See ya!
